Potential car purchase but….
Hello,
An update to this post:
After a good while of radio silence, I do believe I’m about to pull the trigger on an 03 TF160.
I’m viewing it tomorrow but it’s write up sounds perfect - everything that should be done to F/TF’s has been done apart from the coolant level sensor. HG, cambelt, water pump, coolant pipes. One owner, so there’s years of records. The MOT history is almost spotless, completely spotless could be a bit of a red flag (IMO) with only minor brake wear related items. If there anything else I should be paying attention to please let me know. I’ve spoken to the seller two or three times, he seems on the level, not vague, evasive and has spent £15 putting me on his insurance so I can actually drive it.
So, I’ll see how it goes and report back.
Cheers,
Michael.
Update.
Went to see the motor above and it’s been loved and looked after with cambelt, water pump, and other equipment replaced last month at MGFnTFBitz. Unfortunately, it threw an engine light and I’d forget my reader(🤦🏻♂️) so am going back tomorrow to see which code it has. Within the last 6 months it had P1522, P1070, and P0655. My understanding is that 1522 is something to do with VVC. I know nothing about VVC so is it a major issue or not?
Regards,
Michael.

Did you hear about the woman who was determined to find the perfect Mr Right, she was so picky she missed the boat & now lives a spinsters existence.
As I recall you've been looking for a while & now this 160 (the one to have) turns up & your tempted, but. If it's been to "Bitz & there's a niggle Darren will sort it. Think about the early adopters of the 160f's who didn't have access to bundles of tricks to analyse the gizzards, it had to be "well on balance it all looks & sounds good so ......)
Ok so your a Yorkshire man & that does colour your fiscal judgement, but you've got all of Yorkshire, the dales & moors to enjoy, any longer & you'll miss high summer.
I was thinking about going to the Lakes tomorrow but I'm going to tie the red rose of Lancashire to the aerial & drive around the dales & think about your vacillations whilst driving through Kettlewell.
