Set the snorkel in some non setting mastic if poss, I used gutter sealant it does harden off but silicon can make it a bugger to get off if you need to.

Thanks for the heads up. It's arriving tomorrow after customs have finished with it.
I'll look for the mastic you suggest.

I got the snorkel fitted. A couple of the bolts were a pain too fit.
It's well sealed up.

Well done, just me but i'd have that rusty brake box plate out and have it sand blast and powder coated before it gets any worse.

Mine only cost me a new gasket and about €20.

You'll spend a few minutes upside done in the footwell and need a friend to hold a spanner.

Rooky, this is mine after a tidy up, you need to take out the clevis pins which are a cheap wear item if you do.

Theres also a great place in Athlone I've used a few times, he's super helpful

Was it a big job removing the actual plate?

Mechanically quite easy, ergonomically you'll need to be up to date on your yoga classes (upside down in the foot well) and need a second pair of hands for holding the bolts on top whilst your underneath.

The big watch out will be bleeding the clutch, many thread on here about that. I've a Gunson pressure bleeder that uses the tyre pressure to prime it.

(Can pop it in the post to you if you need to borrow it)

Couple of quid on new pins, new gasket and six new bolts. Golden.

I'll have to get one of my sons to help so.
I'd be nervous about bleeding the clutch so I definitely need to read up on that first!

Thanks for the offer, I'll drop you a message when I'm going to do the job.
