Afternoon all.
I have a post already on the subject, but thought this was worth a fresh post to attract more attention.
Having tried two quantity local (co: Durham) key experts, one of which informed me my car had an electrical fault and the other telling me his equipment was faulty, I thought I would go the distance and travel to the MGOC in Swavesey Cambs to get a spare immobiliser logged in to the car.
The A1 traffic was bad my end but we got there and the result was very positive.
I wanted a spare when I heard just what it would cost me if I lost the original.
It was also an opportunity to see the MGOC premises and cop a weekend away.
It took about 25 minutes to programme in and as I supplied my own fob from Remote key ltd at £88.80 inc vat and carriage, the additional cost was £58.50.
Clearly, someone in the MG owners club garage knows his stuff and has the tools to do the job.
So.
I would recommend them should anyone want or need a spare.
Incidentally, the fob needs to come with barcode data, which is printed on the packet, remote key supply this.
Keep the packet, they can't programme in the fob without that barcode data.
