It doesn’t matter which end of the car you place the engine, if it’s not attend to on a regular basis then the chances of a failure are proportionally greater.
My wife had a 45 which consumed it own water in the space of a few miles & as it was under warranty, it went straight back.
The “K” series engine, for it’s time, was a very clever bit of design & it still stacks up today but only in caring hands, which most of ours will be.
A very well respected “K” series sorcerer has looked over my f & opined that the head had never been lifted, this whilst changing the raggy arsed head gasket on m the tf I had at the time.
Monitor as much as you can constantly, have a low coolant alarm, that you can TEST, don’t go out without checking the coolant & keep a constant eye out for drips.
