Air Bags
I remember reading our air bags have a 12 year 'life', and wondered if anyone had had a go at replacing the bag, rather than the whole part? My TF has the passenger as well as steering wheel ones...

You can pick up both passenger & driver bags new, they were not all that expensive. Obviously these are still going to be out of date or we’ll out.
These started to dribble onto eBay about twelve months ago, the drivers bags were ten quid, the passenger bags were not much more expensive.
I trawled one of each up as a hedge against the future.
To be honest had they not been so affordable I’d not have worried about an expiry date. I did some work for an airbag company & they were confident in their products longevity.
it is worth keeping an eye out for a dual controller, especially if you have both bags, these are infrequent visitors to eBay etc & have been affordable, this is less of a case as time progresses. I can’t recall the part number, however it’s wasn’t long ago when this subject arose & Roverlike had some interesting comments to make about numbers.
