Another addition to the fleet
It needs a little work, but I got it for bugger all, and as it'll be work horse, there's no point in getting a real nice one as I'll only end up killing it with use and abuse!
Pix when I get around to getting it home.

His weapon of choice for all the dirty jobs(and my run around while I was there) was a big yellow long wheel base Toyota. Not a ute but it was fun to drive.

Well the thing wouldn't start which is why I got it cheap, I immediately suspected it was the "Smartlock" immobiliser working far too well!
So after doing diagnostics I came up with error 844, which is the smartlock........Yes! :yesnod: I love it when my early hunches are correct.
So I then studied the wiring diagram and noticed there were several fused inputs to the "Body Control Module" which controls the smartlock function amongst others, one of which was for the interior light, which wasn't working.......pulled the lnterior light fuse, and found the contacts dirty, replaced it with a new one and............Success! :woohoo:
It started straight away first tun of the key and runs like silk.
I had a real F.I.G.J.A.M. moment (Fuck I'm Good, Just Ask Me)
I've now replaced all the fuses and fusible links as a matter of course, to ensure no further problems.
So it looks I've picked a winner. : :drive:

I once had a similar thing with a motorbike, non runner, no spark.
Guy I got it off had put new plugs, leads, coils and points on but still no spark.
I got it dead cheap and set about it to find out why no spark.
Turned out that he'd put the points in wrong and a fibre washer was in the wrong place causing the no spark issue!!
Fixed for sweet FA!!
