Interface Failure MACBOOK CATALINA

I was able to get pscan running but when trying to connect to the ecu it will say after a few seconds "interface failure".
can anyone help me troubleshoot this problem? Thanks!

Is the interface plugged into a car and powered up with the green light flashing?
Most of the electronics in the interface are powered by the car.

Yes it was plugged into the car with the ignition on. its uses a 3 pin cable for classic mini spi 1.6 mems. there's no green light indicator for this cable.

You need to connect the red crocodile clip to battery positive and the black crocodile clip to battery negative.

There needs to be a green flashing light on the interface box.

If the light isn't flashing, then it won't work.

I only looked at the cable being used for 1.6 mems on this site now. The cable i have is just the 3 pin cable which i bought on ebay. It does not the have the positive and negative clips. No wonder it didnt connect.
