Concerning the 3 pin cable please make sure that the black clip is ALWAYS connected to chassis of the vehicle, or to the negative terminal of the battery.
Please DO NOT connect the black clip to the engine, or the negative terminal of the coil. Doing this will destroy the interface.
The red clip should be connected to the positive terminal of the battery, or in the case of a Mini where the battery is in the boot you will need to find a permanant positive feed in the fuse box or run your own longer wire from the battery terminal.

Hi Philip. As per my previous pm to you , I would like to purchase one of these three pin cables if you could let me know the cost and preferred method of payment please .
My Pscan is serial number 204 , I have read somewhere on the forum that it might need some modification to it . Is this just for the F ? My car is a TF .

Regards John .

Instructions sent by PM.

I am now shipping a new design of 3 pin cable.

The new one only has the red croc clip which must be connected to the positive terminal of the battery. The black croc clip is no longer present.

The new design should be safer and less likely to damage the interface.
