This is a tweak to the 5AS protocol to make it more reliable.

Connect your laptop to the Internet and run the pscan software. It will automatically update itself.

You don't need the interface box or a connection to a car to do this.

If you have not installed the pscan software at all please follow these instructions https://pscan.uk/install/

The only exception is if you are running the old pscan.eu software from a few years ago, that will not automatically upgrade. If you have this then please reinstall from the above link.
