DIY Cable Length/Pins
I have a pscan from 2016 I've used with an MGF (VVC with Mems2J). I am also now installing a VVC into an MG Midget with original ECU + 5AS. If I wanted to make my own cable for the new installation (with a generic multiplug rather than add an OBD style) are the pinouts for the pscan d-plug end available ? Is there a max length for the cable and do I need to wire the 2x 5AS diag port lines aswell ?
Thanks

in theory it's possible, but 16 pin OBD sockets are easily available and not expensive.
Why not just use a normal OBD socket?

Just I have a PC already in the garage - but the std cable wont reach to the car, so was thinking of a longer cable anyway and I have a selection of unused multiplugs already (aswell as some old DB15 shells/plugs for some reason).

16 pin OBD2 male : 15 pin D-Sub female : purpose
1 : 8 : 5AS data
2 : 7
3 : 6 : 5AS data
4 & 5 : 4 : Chassis
6 : 3
7: 2 : MEMS2J K line
8 : 1
9 : 15
10 : 14
11 : 13
12 : 12
13 : 11
14: 10
15: 9
16 : 5 : +12V
Please be careful because if you get something wrong you can damage the pscan. The most important thing to be careful of is where +12V is connected. +12V to the wrong pin could destroy it. Also earthing through a data line instead of the Chassis pin (for example if earth is missing) can blow out a protection diode.

Many Thanks...cable made and battery connected to the car for the first time in many years. No smoke escaped and PSCAN talking to both ECU and 5AS .
