That famous European supermaket have done it again, 47 piece 1/4 inch drive socket and bit set for just under 18 quid. (Very good quality, bought Saturday and already used).
Set of ratchet spanners for 13 quid, although not tried these.

Thanks for that. The socket set only goes to 14mm but small enough to stick behind the spare wheel in case you need to do a roadside repair.

The ratchet spanners are fantastic, one of the bits of kit from Aldi I use most regularly on the F.

This Sunday they have a 32" LCD TV for £169, back in the day they cost £3000, pity other things haven't reduced by the same percentage, if they had we'd all be driving a Ferrari :bust:

+1 on the flexi head ratchet spanners. :broon:

Keep your eye on the next lot of motoring bargains they sometimes do a similar set with a few different sizes included. ie 12mm and 14 mm :yesnod: At that price two sets gives you a good coverage and still only about the same price of 2 equivalent spanners elsewhere!

+2 on the spanners, they're excellent.

It cost me more for the infill spanners than the whole set.

Robin ;)

Don't normally go for cheap tools, but those spanners look worth a go.
Thanks for the heads-up guys. :broon:

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I have a few Aldi / Lidl tools and have to say I find them really good quality - far better than cheapo ones from Halfrauds (where the pro range is the only one to go for!)

I was in Lidl at the weekend and was considering the precision grinder they have in there just now, not sure how much I would use it but can imagine it would be like my electric saw- very useful to have in certain situations.
They are selling generators just now too.

I have the set with the 13 and 15mm which I purchased years ago. I never realised they did a set with the other sizes :slapme: I have not looked at them when they've had them in store, thinking they'd be the same. Thanks for pointing that out David. :yesnod:

John don't hesitate buying these ratchet spanners they are very handy and they have a fine ratchet action meaning you can use them in places with very restricted access.

I picked up a mini grinder from lidl yesterday, seems a good bit of kit for £20, apart from none of the accessories fit it because the collet is partially blocked. Will be getting swapped today.
