Hi all,
I wonder if someone can advise me please?
Whitst trying to find possible causes for my exhaust sounding louder than it did a week ago, I had a look underneath the car. I found the attached wrapped around the brake pipe - it looks like a vacuum pipe to me but I can't be sure. Does anyone know what it is, and where it belongs? ...... could it be part of the EVC?
Any help would be very much appreciated!

im new to owning the tf.......but my exhaust system is i believe a standard one.........the right exhaust as a vacuum pipe attached to it..........the vac pipe is connected to a actuator ......simular to those found on turbos.................i believe this valve may shut the right exhaust at low revs and open at high revs...............would love to learn more about this as my knoledge is limeted..........will be watching for more answers

Thank you, that kinda fits in - both my pipes are active at tick over so that makes sense.... I'm wondering if someone has deliberately disconnected it as it's got a screw in it...... just need to see if I can find where it goes now!

I don't have that gear on my earlier car but from what I understand the valve that the actuator controls is prone
to rusting solid and many owners just fix it in the open position and do away with the line.
Others disconnect it to improve the sound.

Thanks for that, I think I've worked it out.
The exhaust was replaced before I got it, and the aftermarket one doesn't have the gear on...so thus a spare pipe.

just been outside to take picture of exhaust system..............yes these cars do that for you........they get you away from watching the tv and get you out and about.............anyway here is a picture of what is connected to the tf..........note the rubber boot going into actuator is the same as you have hanging on your car
