Help with door handle rods

I'm having some issues re-assembling the rod that connects to barrel lock





should there be some kind of clip that goes on the end of this rod? Or some kind of clip on the barrel that it connects to (circled in the pic below)?




I've took the barrel out, and put the rod through the hole circled to the right of it, but i can't get the barrel back in. Is it just me or am i missing something?

From memory, there should be a plastic clip in the hole that the rod slides into. Then it rotates to clip onto the shaft to hold it in place. :yesnod:

What David A said, really awkward to do in my experience.

Again from memory it is easier to connect the rod to the barrel and then re-fix to the lock on the other end

On figure number 26 it shows a clip, and mine definitely doesn't have one. Something else i'll have to try source and add to the list of needed parts. Thanks for all the replies
