Hi . Really nice looking TF. Did you get it from Trophy Cars in Peterborough ? I am a newcomer and owner of a TF and went down to see what they had in stock. Quite impressed at the work they put into the cars Head Gasket-wise. I didn't buy one from them but ended up in Chatham buying one from an MG enthusiast . Its a 135 in Firefrost Red. I have just wired up a second horn to it as it was just a single that was on ( Project Drive omission ) , sounds much better. The car has only got 17400 miles from new so, I am asking myself should I fit a new MLS gasket now or what ? Its cats and dogs weather up here in Leeds so I think I will leave polishing for another day. :(

My head gasket went at 43,128mls on my 04 TF160. Had my TF from new. I say mine went, but in fact I had it replaced as I had a product in the cooling system called 4life [ made by Castrol ] it's waterless and changes colour when the h/g is starting to go.

I had mine from trophy cars .. mine had low millage ,full history , new mot and new head gasket ,water pump and cam belt , new oil, and coolant ... but I was far from impressed with them and ill never buy a car from there again and I would never recommend them to anyone

in the first 3 months of ownership I had nuthin but trouble with the car had to take it back twice and they didnt fix anything they just tried other parts off other cars until the problem was fixed then left the part that worked fitted to my car . It was missing 3 wheel nuts , 1 off each wheel and the 4th had a complety butchered locking wheel nut stuck on that I had to pay a garage to remove. Ecu light came on less than 12 hours into ownership again had to pay to get it code read. Wipers stoped working , took it back to them they changed the complete wiper assembly which was took off another car that didnt work so they changed the wiper stalk again off another car in the show room that didnt work so they changed ecu and scu which did work but now I have only 1 alarm fob coded to the car and the 3 the car came with no longer work again all out of another car . The heater blower packed up so again another part out of another car that fixed it.

now my horns stoped working and my drivers door locks nakered so ive ordered the parts myself , new and ill do it myself .

Id rather eat my man sausage than let them touch my car again!!!

Nice looking TF and very shiney. What's under the car cover next door? My MGF made it to 70 000 miles on its original HG and it only went then (according to the previous owner) because it took a stone through the radiator and started to over heat. I've the receipts for the replacement from Wilcox who also tried to fix the radiator which was itself a replacement with only 5K miles on it then had to fit a new one (radiator number 3). Like you I have fitted a coolant alarm which I think is essential and has prevented another over heat in my case when the inlet manifold gasket decided to give up on a warm day. I think the 4Life coolant is also a sensible suggestion and will probably change to that at the next flush.
