Posted 12 years 4 weeks ago #79570I carefully removed the pins from the old pointers and glued them into the new pointers.
Be careful, because the pins are very brittle. I broke one trying to pull it out of the old pointer.
I would either try cutting the pointer away from the pin or melting the pointer, rather than using force.
I had to buy another instrument pod to get another pin, :nonod:
The pins were also not a tight fit in the new smaller pointers so needed gluing anyway.

Here's another good idea that you could consider Andy.Andy the tyre man wrote: I have the heater control set to fit but wonder what I can do with oil temp and clock dials cos they look odd now.
Any ideas?

There is a power supply to the clock & gauge.

There's no reason for them not to illuminate from fitting the plasma dials per se. Mine are working fine.
It's probably going to be down to some damage caused in the fitting. A disconnected wire or a fuse.
Do the switches illuminate because I think they're on the same fuse.
Just thinking aloud, does the supply come via the standard dash lighting rheostat? Is that still wired up?

What's a rheostat and where would I find that?

If everything else lights up then it's got to be down to the live feed to those gauges, unless both bulbs have gone...
