Bell Crank Assembly, rear - MGF
ET7480

Price: £29.99 (Excluding VAT at 20%)

Gearbox bell crank assembly.
Upgraded part.Improves gear selection.
(please note 2 rod ends supplied with this kit)

I'm thinking of going down the Mike Satur Bell Crank route because of the cost. I'm wondering if it's going to be worth fitting the Bell Crank as well and how much of a job it will be. Or just use the rod ends. :-?

I'll let you know how much of a job it is when the bits arrive. I'll be waiting On Rimmer Bros first for the gators for the ends, I only ordered them tonight.

For grinding reverse, I would try popping the joint off and wind it in one turn.
Pop it on again.

My kit arrived from Mike and the boots arrived from Rimmers.

Very dainty. Problem with boots, they've sent two the same size, when in fact one is bigger than the other. The cross gate one is a bit bigger.

Fitting the bell crank is straightforward, just follow the instructions nothing too difficult knock the old pin out, remove the ends leaving locking nuts as they are for a rough starting point and reassemble. Although in saying that Tourbillion (Neil) had a struggle with removing his roll pin. I had a small blow torch handy in case, but as it happened mine turned out to be relatively easy. From getting it on the ramps, to taking it down for a test run 45 mins in total.

I have to admit looking at the new bell crank, that at first I was a little sceptical, the Mike Satur kit is OK, but the ends are a quarter the size of the originals, but they work fine. It does mean that the setting up requires a little more time and adjustment as you cannot fit them exactly as they came off.

Only time will tell, but what has stood out is the quality of the gear change. I don't think we realise sometimes just how sloppy the change gets thro' wear and tear.

Well pleased and well impressed. I just need to contact Rimmers to see if I can swop one of the boots now.

Does anybody have a link or part number to the rubber boots for the TF? I have tried looking on Rimmerbros and cannot see them on the site.

I have had a look under the car yesterday and the boots that go round all three sections of the bellcrank assembly / rod ends are perished. Thanks for the part number David, I would never of found that myself (as it is not of the main explosion diagram). Just reading for post from Uncletone and wanted to make sure exactly which parts to order for my TF. Do I just order two of these:

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-ULS000012

Also does anyone konw which part number I need for the boot that goes between the bell crank assambly and gear box rod it fixes to (I hope that is correct, please feel free to correct if not)?

I have spoken to Rimmer Bros but they didn't give me huge confidence.
