Does anybody have a spare working IAC valve?:dunno:
It's for a mk2 F, so it's the later type with 4pin in line connector.
Ta.

The idle is perfect most of the time, but very occasionally it starts hunting badly 200-1500 revs. Usually a good rev or two and it settles down again.
Some days it's perfect.

Has it done this before? You seem quite confident that is what it is, so I'm assuming it has happened a few times.

Yeah, it has. The thing is I tried cleaning it and the problem was immediately much worse.

Hmm. Wonder what causes it. Maybe the piston or whatever is sticking. Do you fancy doing an autopsy to see how it works and what the problem may be?

You know me, would I be interested in taking it to bits?...much!
I've seen one of the earlier types taken apart and it was manky!

Strange really, as the IACV shouldn't suck anything else but clean air. I think the breather pipes and charcoal cannester pipes etc are after the IACV.

The Iacv connects directly from the inlet plenum back to the throttle body so will be able to suck breather fumes etc.:yesnod:
