I have found that it is possible to reach through to the valve without removing the access cover.(from the boot access)
You could pull the Iacvalve tubing off the throttle body end, and spray cleaner down the tubing, and into the throttle body. With the engine revving, that is.
That might be enough to smooth out the tickover?
