Maybe a daft question...
but if SOMEONE had the door card off to say...Adjust a window, and they needed to make a small X shaped slit in the plastic to get at the forward / backward movement of the window by the M8 & M10 bolts...
would it be a problem if they didn't seal the slit they made up before putting the door card back on?

Rain does get inside the door, so the plastic is to stop it getting to the door card or into the car. Any cut in it 'could' allow water onto the door card. In reality a small incision to get at a bolt is unlikely to lead to a wet door card, but a piece of tape over it makes doubly sure...:shrug:
