Just got a trophy boot spoiler off a 2001 MGF the same year as my car. Does anyone have instructions or a how to on how to fit it. It is the same colour and is ready to go. apparently there is some holes with rubber grommets on some mgf s where the holes should go but mine does not have these. Any help would be appreciated.

its a case of offering it up and personal preference as to where you want it positioned

there wont be any templates :)

its a case of measuring, measuring again, masking tape the boot, measuring again, look from the back, look from the side, get your neighbours daughter to have a look, measure once more and then drill :)

As above really. I know ours that was factory fitted, the rear edge of the spolier is in a vertical plane with the rear part of the boot.
Obviously side to side position is central.

I've just reread that and I'm not certain it makes sense, totally but.....

Because Sheils is out in the car I can't measure but here's a photo from the side, so I think my first statement may be wrong,

and from the back

:tree: All done. Got some blue tac and put it on the boot and offered the spoiler up. measured from the point on each side of spoiler to the
back corner of the boot on each side till the were the same measurement. then measured the side of the spoiler to the gap of the boot on both sides till they were equal. once they were the same i pushed the screws in the spoiler in to the blue tac and where the screws pushed into it that was my drill holes. to be honest it was easier than i thought and there was lots of relief when it fit straight into the holes.
