I decided to tempt fate and add another one of Longbridge's finest to the fleet, welcome the Longbridge Longship, this now joins the MGF and my Rover P6B...

Wow! That looks a very clean car Stefan.
Fits in very well and practical too.
Another car that will no doubt be cherished.

Your taste in cars has to be admired. A 75 estate would have been added to our roster; due to the zeitgeist of the time a small car was deemed more applicable.
Of course that admirable though process was forgotten about, without a backwards glance, when the caring parent felt an SUV was the safest option.
“If it doesn’t have every conceivable protection system, it’s not coming on to my drive, Tarquinius has to be safe at all costs “.
Even though it pumps out diesel particulates & EV’s burst into flames & it takes an age to get the critters out of their safety seat.
Sorry it can be a long way down from my high horse.

For what its worth, I had a blue ZT CDTi around 15 years ago and it was just simply s bloomin great car. Sturdy, well made, bomb proof and still easy to work on when needed. If I needed a larger daily to haul around in, i'd not hesitate looking at either a 75 or ZT again.
It also felt more substantial than my MG6 which eventually suceeded it as a workhorse.

Thanks guys.
Yes, for its 22 year age and 266,000 Km's it's in remarkable condition. Thankfully in part due to the climate here and no salt on the roads of course!
Like the MGF it needs a few things fixing like new brakes all round as the discs are worn, there's a slight knock from the front suspension which I believe is the suspension top mount bushes and / or drop links. I also just replaced the VIS motors as the power one was dead and now the KV6 is back on song. The lower rear engine mount was also completely knackered but was a quick fix and now it shifts in and out of gear with no nasty driveline shunt or vibration up through in to the car
