Ok, from the descriptive below can you
a) Name the series?
b) Name the theme tune?
c) Name who sang it in the series?
d) What character did the singer play in the series?

Descriptive:
An historical drama which ran from 1993 - 97 with extra one off stories aired in 2006 and 2008. The theme tune is a traditional folk song and it's lyrics have changed over the years.

Long running gritty TV show set north of the border whose main actor is no longer with us but the show carried on

2 Who wrote it
3 Who sang the original version
4 The name of the rock band that this singer fronted in the 70s (I remember seeing them at Sheffield City Hall In 1973)
