Worcester Bosch gets my vote. We have one, as does our daughter.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Ben

Code L F (flashing)

1) Press the reset button (little one) in the middle just under the “display panel” showing the code error

2) Trying switching off the mains supply to the boiler (fused unit somewhere by the boiler) switch back on and press the ignition switch on the boiler

3) Check the condensation pipe that comes out of the bottom of the boiler and leads to a drain somewhere. This can block up and cause the problem you have. It is probably connected from the bottom of the boiler to a piece of plastic piping by a rubber connector – pull off and if loads of water come out (well a bit anyway) it is the cause of your problem This water is from the condensing and needs to be able to drain away so – clear the drain pipe.

NB I am NOT an electrical/plumbing/engineer but I HAVE done this twice (once for my house and once for my daughter’s). The latter worked for her.

PM me if i can help further as I did in fact fit a new PCB to my boiler - I got one from a chap on fleabay for about £75 - new the plumber quoted about £400. Needless to say, both boilers are (still, fingers crossed) A OK

Thanks all I'm waiting for the repair chappy if he can fix it I just pay 50 that's all if he doesn't I don't pay anything and I will get my mate neal to sort me out a new one. He shook his head when I mentioned ideal and said the council had to remove them as they were not that reliable

Complained to the bank saying hurry up. I'm covered up to £500 per claim so hopefully all is well :)

Hopefully a new part and sorted! I reckon if I keep moaning about twins not coming home due to faulty heating then might be sorted by tomorrow.

I will get a quote up front before they start good advice allan. :woohoo:

just had a chat with the engineer...

says its the condensing trap blocked so will watch him do it and see what's going on :) he says it might be full of crap and junk so might be a 15 mins job. Sounds just like what Ted said so cheers :)

Fingers Crossed !

The boiler in our last hoouse suffered from this: there is usually a bottle in the boiler casing that collects the condensate and drains it to an external drain, If its that it will be a quick fix.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Last winter a lot of new build houses had these problems when the condensate pipe froze solid. The builders had run the pipe down the external wall of the house without insulation. Not surprisingly, entire estates of new houses were without heating! cough... Barrett... cough!

So the engineer came out. Emptied some water out and cleaned a plastic part. Put the boiler back together and working fine. I set it to on and left for the hospital.

Just come back and guess what.....

ITS F-ING broke again.....

ARRRGGGHHH!

So now engineer will ring me at 10am tomorrow so more faffing about, leaving the wife in hospital on herself with the twins.

NOT HAPPY!

That is all, rant over.
