Despondency has set in. I just can't seem to find a TF that I can afford. Seems to me that prices are rising (approaching summer, maybe) and my budget feels like it is proportionately shrinking. Sorry for moaning - I am sure there are others way worse off than I. :(

Ain't it funny, how time slips away...?

You need to illuminate the "Ben Sewell Bargain Required Searchlight" over Gotham City.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I know people have said get a TF, but I seriously recommend getting in touch with ConsettPhil.
His F has had loads done to it, and is a nice example - dark grey/black with a new red hood. Worth a look!

Thanks David - I have bombed off a private message to ConsettPhil. Jac114 - I have £1000 sitting in a credit card. I really don't want to go too much higher than that, particularly if I have to spend more money on the car. I have been unemployed for two years and I am heading back into full time study. The car will be used for short local runaround driving, mainly.

to be honest with that sort of money your better off looking for a F rather than a TF im not saying you wont get A TF for that, ( mine cost £1250 with faults) and i have spent a fair bit more on top.. and thats my point. if you get a cheap one there will be more to spend out on(trust me ) ask paulmgf or Ben or Me lol so with 1k max ish it doesnt leave room for any other unexpected bills

Yeah, I figured that, jac114. I have started looking at Fs. Seems there are some decent cars out there for small outlay. Thanks anyway, pal.

I totally agree with you Craig ,even though I now had a TF , the MGF is a great car and when your actually sitting in them driving they all look the same be it an F or a TF. no size or real practical reason to choose one over the other , grab an decent F and drive her and enjoy her that's what they really are all about :drive:

I bought a TF for 550 a bit ago so they do come up but you have to be quick. And have some reserve money for big bills /servicing as they are temperamental things. I'll get looking for you ones just polled up for 400 quid needs the head gasket doing so for a grand you'd get a nice car see the bargain basement thread / section

Day-amm - that is a beauty, David. oops - got to go and wipe the drool off of the keyboard... I hope Phil gets back to me soon, although looking at it, it will be way over my budget.

I agree with David though too if you can buy from a forum member you know some history. I sold my 04 TF for 1200 a few weeks ago
