Events
One day events are reasonably easy to organise, but the response is poor. As for W/E & European trips, there seems very little interest.
Give some feedback on what you would be interested in joining. It's a great way of enjoying your MG with like minded people. Read the tips on the "How Tos" for organising an Event.
You have to make an effort & support Event organisers.
Later in the year I will have a go at a run around the Gloucester/Forest of Dean area & next year another trip to France.
As they say support it or lose it :yesnod:

we drove the run route several times. Sue produced a killer printed and annotated route map, I organised meet point and grub afterwards. A lot of graft, just glad 3 turned up!
So we tried and, well not failed exactly..... but were disappointed at the response quite frankly.
Unless its a big organised event, folk just can't be ar$ed.
To be brutally frank, (and unpopular no doubt) take a break from fitting spoilers, splitters, Vodka bar lighting schemes, LEDs and similar weight adding junk and get out and drive the bloody things.
We're Old People..... And we do.
They belong on the road, not in the garage.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Even well established groups like Border Patrol are getting fewer people along to runs.
Don't let this put you of though, as I continually say, keep it simple to begin with. Try a get together in a pub for a chat. Little acorns etc.

As regards to a week in France, it will still be cheaper than any holiday you can organise yourself [bar camping] :yesnod:
Obviously if kids are a consideration then it's a no no.
Dare I suggest that the main obstacle is the other half
Mine doesn't want to know so I take a mate
I'm retired so can take hols. any time but I realise that those still working have to choose & budget carefully. Give a thought to setting aside a week & I think you will have a great holiday.
I will put up an event later in the year.
