Events
I reckon its because the weather is so unpredictable, you dont want to put your name down for a run and then find its raining cats and dogs.
I know it sounds a feeble excuse, but I dont want to drive miles to meet up and then sit around, in cold, wet surroundings.
Fuel costs also cant be ignored, OK, so a one day run will not break the bank, but fuel, meals etc for two can easily be over £50.
Its good to meet face to face with people you chat to on the Forums, I'm on a few MG forums and think the problem of low take up on events, can be seen on most of them.
MG Saloon Day at Duxford is the next big one for me. Last MGSD ended up with the heaviest rain I'd ever driven through, A1 M, I think it was, was like a river!!! Just glad to get home.
Teddy Bears Picnic at Bodium Castle is coming up soon, still only a maybe because of the weather, again. 2 hours drive for us, so if its fine, it will be worth it. If not I wont be going.
Shame, because thats one of the reasons I bought the TF, to go out with the top down, with some like minded MG people!!
Best of luck with organising the events, but it can be a thankless task.

Got to be parked up by 10.30 am and cant move off site till around 4.00 pm. Cost £5.00. Dont want to promote someone else's event.
Confirmed that I am going now, least the thread concentrated my mind. Just hope the weather is kind.

Having a ZT also, I am a member of the 75Zt club too, as I am sure others on here are too.
The events that are always popular over there are the "nano" meets (don't ask me why they are called this) they are basically meets where owners get together and work on their cars :hgf:
What tends to happen is the more technical ones give confidence/help/assistance to those less technical.
There is one coming up at the end of July in Doncaster, if anyone is interested let me know, I am sure there would be no problem with some F's coming along.
I camp, some bring caravans, some stay in hotels and some just visit for the day and then go and miss the beer at night :broon:
