From the pictures you posted on FB of this car, I couldn't see a supercharger. Where have you hidden it, or did it fall off?

Great drive-ability, decent handling and getting to 70mph quickly and stopping safely is, I suggest, what most MGF/TF enthusiasts desire - along with a decent level of finish and trim. And that is what Daryl has built, in a fairly short space of time, with an emphasis on getting to and from 70mph very quickly. My own MGF is no slouch having had much work done to the head, breathing and exhaust. However, Daryl's KKZ car is is another league to mine and he's not telling what he's done to the motor. It's defo not got NOS in the boot, I looked!

I agree with the OP, Chris, that Daryl's car is very quick. When I was treated to a ride in KKZ, I lost the ability to complete an intended 0-60 timing due to adrenaline rush. I can't believe the car runs sub 6.0 seconds as Chris thinks, but nonetheless it's very, very quick.

AW had memories of the "Spamalot" musical when reading about Daryl's car. I guess he's in agreement with how I felt after my joy ride - as per the following quote from James Moore's 2013 review of that show:-

<quote> This [musical] is the ultimate feel-good treat, and we defy anybody to not come away feeling content, uplifted and with slightly achy cheeks from laughing so much.
Thumbs up, and a fart in your general direction. <quote>

A few people in this forum appear to have nothing else better to spend their money and time on save for building or commissioning dream MGF's that are way off original design, fit and form. Perhaps to put them on the race track or for hobbyist reasons. I can understand that enthusiasm to a degree, but get real, these dream cars "might" see the road one day. They will take an age to complete and an age to shake out the consequent defects. I expect Daryl's car will also spend some time off the road with "stress" problems, but that's his toy car, not typical of the cars he builds to "Reborn" standards. Meanwhile, all credit to those "dream MGF" people's efforts; the rest of us mere mortals will physically drive our relatively standard cars (some perhaps performance and comfort improved) on regular roads whilst smiling and looking on the bright side of life.

I remember reading a post on another forum where the owner of 'the most modified F' spoke of how much faster the car was given its 'race engine'... Only to find it was a standard 143

As above.. A friendly meet at a rolling road.. Or a 1/4 mile day soon sorts the men from the boys

This has been one of the best threads in ages.. Almost technical too

A few on here know a lot about the K series and know what is possible and how much you spend getting it there...

We know its a K.. And we know its not running ITBs..

We know its not got a super charger..

Its like playing 'what's in the box'

How about rolling roading it.. And we all pay £10 to guess the Bhp at the wheels? Winner gets a bottle of wine and the money raised goes to a well deserving charity?

I must admit it's not James Moores review I was thinking of but it does seem apt,
"slightly achy cheeks from laughing so much" I guess you must be referring to the standard of Daryl's work. In terms of songs "always look on the bright side of life", well that does help, but I was thinking of another song "Not quite dead yet" I think that is more appropriate for Daryl's customers.

This is an interesting thread. I think a RR day / drag race is needed. Someone told me my sticker 'Built on eBay' will make it the fastest kart in the west. :nv:
