I suppose that Mk1 MGF seat is used while the car is stripped down?

What would a repair like this cost? I've got a mobile guy coming to give me a quote for pulling the dent out of my OS sill and respraying it but would like to have an idea to compare it against.

Yes the mark one seat fitted for the repair only. The G3 paste used to mop paint at the end tends to go all over the place and generally flys off the mop so i try to remove as much as possible less to clean after.

Prices & quotes will differ,it depends on the prepping involved and the work required, the size of business, reputation.A cheap job is not always best but there again a expensive price doesnt guarantee results.
The repair cost on the loss form from insurers was quoted as £6614.

However i recently had a dent on my mgf after slightly dropping the hardtop at the top of rear quarter. It was pretty minor only a few inches long and didnt crack any paint.
I Called in a mobile dent removal guy who was recommended. He came to the unit then with a heat lamp and what i can only describe as what looked like a centre punch after about a hour the dent was removed he only charged £40.He doesnt do scuff paint repairs just paintless dent removal.
I use the same body repairers who are friends of mine.We All used to work together on the same industrial estate years ago so i saw there work on a daily basis. They have been painting cars for me and my customers for years,So obviously i get mates rates, but in my expeirence a bodypanel beater or repairer wont quote anything without viewing the extent of damage.

Quarter in and inner arch replaced.Apparantly More sealer than weld was found on removal of the damaged one, inner arch i am advised was a bit of a mission but its all straight now and the support section inside the air vent as been replaced. The rest of panels are being prepped then off to the booth for complete respray.

That's quite a complex cutting welding job on the rear quarter also having to take into account the air uptake for the engine fan; no wonder they are so easily written off if they have accident damage in that area.

Looks like it's coming along well; good job.

Great to see the progress being made on this repair.
Loving seeing whats beneath the body work - something we never normally get to see (thankfully!)
