I see this is turning into a Spelling Police recruitment Drive! :yesnod:
Welcome to Constables Cairnsys and Mogotrons. :broon: :hugs:

As a public broadcast announcement The Spelling Police would like to explain that( 's) does not make the word plural. The apostrophe can mean a contraction of two words into one i.e. Isn't is a contraction of Is not. 's can also denote possession, chili's means of the chili. So the chili's colour is red.
Plural is usually denoted by simply adding s or es.
In this case more than one Chili is Chilies.
or more than one Chilli is Chillies.

Indeed you would. Just as the plural of ball is balls. :yesnod:

The Red Hot Chili Peppers need no correction as I believe they are from the USA. In the US, Chilies are called Chili Peppers. :P

Of course in the United States, written communication involves throwing random letters and punctuation at a page and calling the result language. Any point regarding spelling is therefore moot. ;)

I couldn't agree with Beth more; "will you put that over their" or "is that theres?" Absolutely drives me mad!
Great chillies though, I've tried a couple of times but they have always grown spindly and fallen over.

I am, of course, thrilled to attract positive comments, and would be willing to start a thread explaining some of the more common mistakes in spelling and grammar. :broon:
As long as people appreciate it is not malicious or personal, :nonod: it is only the Spelling Police trying to help the great members of this forum. :yesnod:
With tongue firmly in cheek. :P

ps. grammAr, not grammEr. :tapfoot:

England and America are two countries separated by a common language.

Here is Scotland we have the Red Hot Chili Pipers (bagpipes - yes really, Really - and only one 'l'- sorry).

A little known use of chili or chilli is to add it to boat anti-fouling - barnacles don't like it hot.

While on the famous mis-uses of the ' how about "it's" as in the possessive sense when it can only mean "it is"?

Now totally off topic (as per normal).
