Nice pictures Craig and looks like a lot of fun. :yesnod:
Every day is the weekend for me :P so I get to reply to this thread on a Mon (or is it Tues)
I spent some time on the seats on my blue MGF and general cleaning , polishing and adjusting everything else. Really just waiting for parts to put the head back on.
Had a bit of luck adjusting the handbrake. See picture. :woohoo:

David Aiketgate wrote: The plug leads position depends on the engine type in your car. The early mpi engines have a distributor on the nearside end of the engine, behind the throttle body. The early VVC engines have coilpacks between the engine and the firewall and the plugleads come up from there to the plugs.
The later cars (mems3) have 2x coilpacks on top of the engine and 2 short plug leads under the top cover.

Thanks David, I did find them. Is the firewall what separates the engine from the boot? That's where I found them (VVC), all cleaned up now and starting much better. :)
I'm going to have to find some way of making reaching into the engine bay easier, because I'm fairly short the ends of the plug leads are at the limit of my reach when standing behind my F. I almost wanted to stand in the boot! Haha I have a small ikea two step that I use to reach the top shelves in my kitchen which works well enough but I feel fairly conspicuous and silly standing on steps to work on my F!!

This coming weekend I will be sorting the rear seal on my soft top. I ordered some neoprene rubber self adhesive strip from bay. Thanks again David for the How To.

Will have much less time for F-ing this weekend as I have a wedding to go to...but another niggle I want to look into is the passenger side hood clip, it works but it's just not quite right.

Hmmm, I didn't find a fiver when I investigated my handbrake, just finger nail clippings! Looks like a good day Bacchus/Craig

LP thanks for the link, will have a go at some point, but as I hadn't noticed any difficulty in steering it's not a priority quite yet. On the List. I did dig out my multimeter to discover the battery is flat so at least that is sorted before I find I need it. :broon:

Yeh, that's where I meant for the coil packs. :yesnod:
Funny you should say about standing in the boot. I sometimes kneel in the boot when working on the car. It saves my poor back. :broon:

Weekend. No cars.
Refurb in #2 Daughters kitchen.
:(

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Abaaart a year ago I planted a few pumpkin seeds with the Mrs.

Checked in the garden today and they've grown.

That's borderline abuse. Those poor girls could be scarred for life. :P

Always worth bearing in mind that they will be choosing your retirement home Ben...

My weekend has been taken over by a wedding...I think my kidneys ache or something does.

Anyway, nothing done on my MG.

I'm feeling quite twitchy listening to the fireworks going off...what are the chances of a spent casing, still smoldering, landing on my car roof and setting it on fire?

I have visions of getting up for work tomorrow and finding just a frame of the roof left...

I'm overthinking it aren't i?

That is quite possible Beth but just the same as it doing it on your car roof it would cause less damage on a tin top. But with the poor weather hopefully the chances of anything bad happening wil be low.

Gah! Just been out to check it and there is a layer of frost so now I have a brand new source of worry...With cold comes contraction so I really wish I had replaced my rear hood seal this weekend...

My mgf is in danger of equalling the teenager as a source of stress...

I must draw up plans for my wood/mgf shelter...
