It occurs to me reading the posts on here that several of us have pet names for our cars, some understandable and others more random.
I normally refer to my car as "little red" however my children call it "Bengie" this is following the children s TV character "engie bengy" which they altered to MG Bengy! :slapme: Why is yours named?

Nice thread idea.

Mine is Rufus,

Latin in origin, it means red or red haired and my 80th anniversary has a red roof so it seemed to fit.

Rich.

Understeer - When you hit the wall with the front of your car.
Oversteer - When you hit the wall with the back of your car.
Horsepower - How fast you hit the wall.
Torque - How much of the wall you take with you.

My sister calls her Ferarri 328 GTS, Enzo, obviously after the founder of the Ferarri marque.
She asked what I call my MGF, I told her if I was to follow her example it would have to be Cecil after Cecil Kimber the founder of the MG marque, :nonod: so I just call it the MG.

Nightfire F is called Meg as her original owner had a private plate starting 'MEG' and named her - I kept it just in case she got upset!

Silver TF is called Felix - somehow I managed to make his number plate ending FXZ in to Felix!

Range Rover is called Michael - god knows why!

Our first TF was an 03 black Sunstorm which I bought as a bit of a dog and spent many a happy hour and money bringing her back to her former beauty.

On a trip out one day with the better half we broke down (alternator packed in) she aptly named it the pig which eventually ended up being the Black Pig.

Our current TF is an 05 Steppy; again needed much work to bring her back but the old name kind of stuck a bit as she now calls this one the Purple Pig.

My LE500 js normally referred to as Ellie (LE), strangely enough.

The black Fiat 500 is called Colin...dunno why...should be Luigi or Enzo or something Italian methinks...

..and the Freelander is referred to as RUI..coz of the number plate...

Don't go for naming cars myself but my OH is addicted to it... :yesnod:
