Smart phones are not for 76 year olds ;)
My mobile is 15 years old & I only use it to make 'phone calls. It is one of the few phones I can plug in my loop system which I need because I wear hearing aids.
Going to Trier tomorrow & I will look for a new sat. nav. as long as it speaks English :lol:

PQD44 wrote: I was going to recommend an App for Android called M8, however, it has just popped up with a message in small print saying something like

Thank you for using M8 over the past months, to ensure that users receive the same level of service and support there will, from 30 June 2014 be a £1.99 monthly charge for using the App.

This App, full of adverts, was free to date and I could have easily missed this 'notification' message and carried on using it and being charged, so I have just uninstalled it.

I use 'Navigator' which is free (or you can use chargeable maps but I've never needed to globally!) and Navfree (I know one of the guys who developed it - its pretty cool and of course FREE)

I have read quite a few good reports on Waze.

The review on PC Advisor gave a good report but added;

"Our main criticism is the wide-open privacy policy which means your data, which isn't anonymous, can be shared with too many third parties including the police. Waze is effectively a black box for your car, so drive sensibly, or don't use it."

Autoexpress also gave it a good report but added;

"Muffled voice instructions are the only letdown."

Think I will give it a try and see for myself. Thanks for the advice David.
