I am planning to replace the tires on my 2005 MG TF. So far, I have only checked out Toyo Tires Proxes 1. Saw one online and I am contemplating on ordering it. Is anyone familiar with it?

Proxes on our TF: very happy.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

I like the Toyo BUT there have been a few problems when they changed the compound which effected some cars.

Which size wheel do you have?

Went for mot Saturday with my mazda..while waiting for the car..I got into conversation with the owner of the garage..they fitted tyres and I got a few prices..which were not over the top..but he kept trying to steer my mind in the direction of the avant tyres...they were no difference in price from the brands I'd set my mind on so I suspect he was going to make more bucks selling me that brand.. (avant)...

I thought I knew most of the tyre brands, but it must be my age as the Avant brand name is a new one on me, can anyone give a link to their website please?

I've never heard of them either, I wonder if they were actually Davanti?

Got me thinking

They were "Event" on my first TF, not "Avant" ...Total rubbish!

Sorry!

Here is the link to the Davanti tyre website https://www.davanti-tyres.com

It turns out that they are yet another Chinese brand who started to be imported into the UK/Europe in 2013/14 with the UK importer apparently being Oak Tyres, this article gives you a bit of an insight http://www.tiretechnologyinternational.com/articles.php?ArticleID=1217

The one hing that really naffs me off with so many of these articles is that they use a Trump spelling of the word TYRE!!!!! When I used to write and produce technical and marketing literature for several of the UK based major international tyres brands it always drove us all mad having to justify the spelling of the word TYRE in English!!
