Quality of replacement MG badges?

Quality of replacement MG badges? was created by PapayaLaunch

Hi All!

Looks like the front badge on my TF has the lacker failing. So I did some looking online and there seems to be two clear paths:
  • OEM - £50
  • Third Party Knock-Off - £10-£20
Just wanted to see what peoples experiences are on these cheaper ones, are they perfectly fine? I don't care too much about 'OEM' for the sake of it, just wanted to know if it's a case of 'pay for what you get' on the cheap ones.

Thanks for any thoughts!

Just a thought but could you lightly sand down the lacquer on the surround and respray it and apply new decals?
A spray can would do it.
I recently replaced my decals with good quality ones for just over £10.

The scratch is mine..doh

Its like chipped off in big chunks, I'd be worried I'd end up damaging the logo that is now partly exposed.

If the £10 you got is good enough, I think I'll place an order!

Are they the same front and back or different on the boot?

Same size back and front available in different colours.
From artdesign2001 on Ebay.
They really stick with no peeling.

I had these arrive today for the TF.
Different design but same supplier as recommended by TA22GT.
Thanks for the tip 👍

For what its worth, i have been unlucky over the years with replacement badges.. everyone I have bought looks like cheap tack.

To be fair though, having bought my first TF with OEM badges 20 years ago now I can't even remember what they looked like... so they could have been crap too

If you get decent ones, let us know where you got them

You will find they are an exact fit. There is a film over the front for protection. I forgot to remove mine..doh.

I’ve been let down once with cheap replacements & they are still in their original pack somewhere in the garage, the rest have almost indistinguishable from OEM.
