MGF dashboard design was created by Goodwood

Perhaps this was obvious to everyone else, but I just noticed how the MGF dashboard is essentially the identical mold for both LH and RH cars. It is just the plastic cowl that is switched to the required side (as well as the required cutout) depending on the configuration. I had wondered why the passenger side had that peculiar indentation. Now I understand why!

This might also partially explain the 'flimsy' attachment of the cowl to the dashboard.

The entire dash could have been made 6 inches higher (at least) and the cowl manufactured in a manner that it did not universally crack / break off, but - that said - the design was a elegant solution to cost savings.

Given the lack of storage in the TF, the dish in front of the passenger is crying out for a 3D printed glovebox. If only I had the means......

I rather like the Jakabi (?) Design Door Pockets.  Seem to have vanished.

Preferably without the MG logo.  Got enough of those already.

Dave I know a man with a 3D printer -  all he'd need is a file to print off.  He's into VW Campers and is regularly printing off gadgets or test bits for it.

I got a pair last year. Fine, but pretty “heavy headed”, the big logo and the square shape add unnecessary bulk and weight. Also, they need a small flat piece of plastic to separate both compartments.

I have not fitted them yet, but the front upper fixing could be a bit weak, maybe.

We’ll see, the Fs-TFs lack storage space so they could be really useful

Obvious question - where from?  I cannot find any for sale on their FaceAche site.  Comes to it I could perhaps whack something up in fibreglass.

It took me a while to find Paul Goldsmith. Finally I could do it through my daughter’s Facebook

He does a lot of good stuff, he does under bonnet storage, side scoops, even complete body kits. He is also working on a new dashboard design.

I agree with the logo being too large. And it looks "bare". Needs a covring of some sort.

VinceR, would not know where to start with so many compound radii. Drilling into my dash is a huge step.......

Gee, I actually like the MG badge on the door pocket, MG was once known for having the logo all over the car.

We have these door pockets on both of our Fs. The first set I bought didn't have the logo, the later one does (bought directly from Paul). I think the earlier one has a divider between the drink holder and the rear, open compartment.

We also have Paul's replacement cowls on both cars, they are of excellent quality.

I wish I had an earlier one 😊

Made the dividers, but I can’t erase the logo 🤷🏽‍♂️
