I'm happy thet the F is running fine but what a difference there is between her 143 bhp and the ZR's 160.
Apart from a better filter and exhaust how can I improve the power, larger 52 or 56mm throttle body or is there more to it?
Home to black Alfa Romeo 159 3.2 V6 Q4 ,green MGF VVC and red MG Maestro T16.

he is the master of the K-Series engine... he can build you something of up to 270bhp out of a 1.9l stroker kit for the K... (this will need regular rebuilds)
Reliably you could get 205bhp...
Hes just done my new head for me which should take the car to about 150bhp from stock 118...
Daves a top bloke and always happy to chat and offer advice.

I currently have 52mm TB, enclosed K&N, mildly ported inlet manifold & plenum, Miltek backbox and a 25bhp WON nitrous kit. Goes nicely enough under normal power and then when you add the NOS to it :bye: :lolm:

Nitrous? really? lol... Sounds like fun! i would blow up an engine or 2 if i had that, i cant be trusted with extra boost...
When i pop a V8 into my lotus im going to be limiting it to 5500rpm, so i dont blow it up at the first possible moment!!!
52mm TB is a good idea though

It certainly makes things a little more 'interesting' :driving: Only a single injector at the moment with a 25bhp jet, planning on going up to 50bhp jets with an injector in each port. Much more efficient and a hell of a lot more fun :whee:
Will look forward to the pics when you do that :yesnod:

Lots more to it!!! It would be worth changing the airbox for a TF 160 airbox because it breathes better,or a totally enclosed induction kit like the Taipan. Also worth a try is the inlet manifold/plenium off a Mk2 Elise it has a slightly increased volume and gives a nice little boost to things.talkingcars;13767 wrote: Having enjoyed 1500 miles of fun driving in the F we took the ZR out the evening after we got back.

also does anyone put K20A Honda engines into MGF's?
the honda is a common engine conversion on the elise, particularly with a chargecooled supercharger up to 400bhp in a little plastic car makes a pretty potent weapon!

Yep, there is one guy over on .org who has fitted it in his TF and Adam on here is in the process of collecting bits for it. It's also on my long term plans :yesnod:

Mike Satur did a lot of the early conversions using the K20A. Adam will tell you about his K20A if you ask him nicely.
