Got bored this afternoon so I went to halfords and picked up a Sony stereo on sale (£100 off) so all I need to do is order some new 4x6 for the bar and I'm good to go.

What Sony did you get?

TBH it seems easy enough. Should be able to install the stereo with little or no fuss as there is a cd player there already. Biggest thing will be installing the soundbar at the rear and running speaker wires for the rear speakers. How exactly does one write a "how to"? It's nice and sunny today so going to give it a start later.

Ah, so you want a how-to on writing how tos?

I don't know how anyone else does it but I have my camera and a pen and paper handy and I make a quick note of each step and take a picture of that step as I work.

When i've completed the job, I write up the steps longhand so other people can understand them.

I then upload the pictures to Tinypics.com and keep that window open. You can upload them and resize them at the same time - 800x600 is good.

Now I open The Tbar in a new window, create a new thread and begin typing the instructions into it.

As I need a photo I locate it in Tinypics and then copy the IMG code(down the left) and paste that code into the new thread.

Continue until you are done.:yesnod:

If you 'Go Advanced' at this stage you can see what your 'How to' is looking like.
You will probably want to tweak it, add smilies etc. to make it look better and check you have put the right photos in!

If you're happy, then post it!! Good luck.;)

Oh, and a good tip when fitting a stereo. You can ease out the centre air vents by gently prising the bottom of the vents out. Take care not to damage the dash, use something like a piece of stiff plastic to lever it out.
Now you can see down to the back of the stereo and make sure you don't trap any wires.

Thanks for the tip. Well I've installed the speaker bar in the back. Problem is I can't release the seat belt from the seat to get the cover off atm as I dont have the right tool. The stereo went in very easily, with the only problem being the rear wires. There seams to be rear speaker wires as there is a plug wired up at the bar but I can't find them near the stereo, so only the door ones are connected atm. All in all so far an easy install, however when I replace the door speakers I might have a few probs as the panel has to come off. I have also found out I have water coming into the doors! Will keep you posted once I start replacing the speakers!
