Poor show by Steve... Obviously he doesn't have regular backups in place..
He has known about several holes in the security of the site for years, but did nothing. As long as the money rolls in, he doesn't care.

A bit harsh really. The database itself didn't appear to have been touched in the last attack, just the server itself which the hosting company decided had to be binned and a new one commisioned. We'll just have to wait and see what's happened this time but if the hosting company has fallen to the same attack again then there's no excuse really.

No worries on that front here,

Database backed up once an hour, Entire site synced with a different server at Midnight, Should take about an hour for total recovery in a worse case. running my own DNS Backup so no waiting around for that either.

Oh yeah, and we don't make any money here :) What litte comes in goes straight back out for hosting
