TOMTOM / GARMIN OR OTHER?
Decided it's time to get rid of my 1984 AA road atlas with missing page 54 and go electronic. Looking at around the £100 - £120 bracket. Would be handy if it had points of interest. And as a country boy who is scared of driving in big bad cities lane guidance wouldn't come amiss. Any prefs/recommendations between above brands etc etc.
As usual thanks in advance

My personal preference - Tomtom.
Latest ones have lane guidance.
You can add POI to your heart's content.

Tried a few and must agree the TomTom is the best system and lots of support.

Well, Im now in with the sat nav crowd and an owner of a TomTom. Don't worry talking cars, I'll hold on to the atlas as well for if I ever feel like Im losing the ability to read a map and start to put makeup on using the rear view mirror.
Went for the TomTom XL IQ at £109; and I had £40 worth of vouchers ...... so result!
Here's a pic of Mr Tom in situ: only downside is the suction pad will only stick to glass and I would have liked to have had the option to put it on the dash as I it's a bit of a stretch to reach it on the screen.

Always used iGO8 on my previous Windows Mobiles - but now have to try out some new ones as it's not on Windows Phone 7!!

Flitting between 'GPS Voice Navigation' and 'Navigation' at present and waiting for 'Navigon' to be released!

We have a Magellan that does the job. The biggest downside is you can't download optional voices.
My brother in law has Ozzie Osborne on his. That gets you prompts like, "You've gone the wrong fu**ing way!"
That catches your attention!.
BTW: no matter what make you have be sure to update it regularly. Found that out the hard way!
