So why do you think the PDAP on my Nokia won't connect to the bluetooth adapter I have Psymon?

Probably because although the profiles are supposed to be standard, as normal they are not, Each Manufacture has there own spin. On the BMW they release updates to add compatibility for different handsets.

To be blunt I'd move away from Nokia and go for either an Android device or an Iphone, An HTC running android would be my choice, As these are the devices that manufactures test their kit on.

I'm waiting an update myself as album art doesn't display in car when streaming from the phone and Face book Avatars don't all ways display against contacts in car either.

Wow - this is a complete minefield :-?

My son is having a few of his mates over tomorrow for a PS3 fotball get together and they have all said that I can try their phones, so I may have some more positive news then ;)

OK - I am an idiot. I re-read the manual for the bluetooth adapter and discovered that my phone disconnecting when I initiated the download phonebook option was NOT an error

It disconnects the phone so that any incoming calls will not disrupt the download. You then have to send the contacts as business cards from the phone - which uses the (OPP) Object Push Profile.

With my phone it isn't possible to send the entire phonebook at once, you have to send each contact individually. This is a bit time consuming but it works!

Just have to sort out voice recognition and I'm all done for bluetooth.

As for the ipod, my friends Classic 5G charges ok with the adapter, which was what I thought was the case. Classic 6G onwards will not charge on the adapter. So I know what I want in that department too. :yesnod:

I'm glad you've accepted your role in life so readily. Some people spend their whole lives steadfastly refusing to accept that they are idiots. :yesnod:

:bust:

Seriously, I'm glad you've sorted your new system out. Don't want you getting lost in the middle of France next year! :nonod:

TBH it's no where near as complicated to do as it reads in the manual.

As with all the other things I have done to the car in the past year I was starting from the position of complete novice, so I found out I was an idiot last year

Buying the F was one of the best things I've done. It's been serious fun, I've learnt a lot, met some great people and spent a load of time with my son.

does anyone remember one of my first posts when was trying to source an original gearknob and radio, so I could put the car back to complete OEM? :omg:

What was I thinking

I can confirm, absolutely, that Larry is a fully paid-up member of the darkside!

Ooh, another award maybe? I'll have to look for an appropriate medal icon. :yesnod:
