I tried using the shoutbox to no avail. Spark plugs is the query :). Do the plug caps just pull off? Or do they need to be twisted a certain way first? Thanks.

they just pull off, but can become 'stuck' by the suction effect of the rubber end of the HT lead

Thanks Pete. I'm already using tremendous force with no joy. I'm going to try some wd40 now.

I ended up using so much force that I pulled one of the leads out of the rubber cap, it was so well stuck. As I was replacing the leads anyway, that wasn't a problem. The problem was that the stupid cap was still stuck to the spark plug.

just to clarify, is it the HT leads that you can't pull off the spark plugs, or is it the spark plugs you can't remove from the head ?.

It all looks relatively new under there and I know the previous chap looked after it with no expense spared. The last service was in June. So, no drama at this time. I was changing them as a fellow LPG'er said they benefit from iridium plugs and when sitting in traffic the revs sometimes fluctuate from 500 to 1000 (lpg most likely, as when I switch to petrol it stops immediately).
