Posted 12 years 11 months ago #32654So far have spent close to £200 on parts, cables From Portland £130, & mike satur bell housing kit just under £30,rayb wrote: not being nosey well iam , how much is this going to cost you ?
Am still waiting for the cables, ordered on Thursday... Mike satur bits arrived next day, so top marks to mikey!
Of course don't mind you asking,
Not sure how much for labour, though garage doesn't seem to have had any trouble getting old cables out. Also having aservice done so well looking forward to having the old girl back.
The smart roadster also is in the garage for its mot/service, talk about bad timing, two cars in the garage..

Am still ruddy waiting for the cables to arrive, ordered last week of Portland with next day delivery..
Now getting complaints from garage as car is getting in the way..
Tried contacting Portland to find they are closed in the afternoon. Anybody else experienced this problem?

Thought I'd better update,
Finally got Rosie back yesterday, parts had arrived on time but delivered to wrong house, meaning a week was wasted.
Garage spent a total of ten hours on the car, so you can imagine the cost!
Sadly still not happy with the gear change, so will have a fiddle adjusting when I get the chance.
Whilst rosie was off the road, I have been using Paul's smart roadster, including trips to Devon, Lancashire and Manchester, am well impressed with the little thing, sad to say it wipes the floor with the tf, even the auto box grows on you after a while.
I was meant to be in Devon til last Monday, but had to come back for an interview on prev Friday, and then drive back down again, on way back from said, unsuccessful interview, someone rear ended me, so Paul's smart is now in garage and I am in the dog house along with the TF.
Now have a. Corsa 1.2 courtsey car and it's pulling me back to the dark side of proper cars..

Proper?
Over here you couldn't give away cars with 1.2l engines and only hairdressers and environmentalists drive Smart cars.
Edit: That's not right.....Environmentalists drive Priuses.

we hold every thing in stock, both new and second hand.we charge a fixed quote for repairs.£200 labour plus parts would have been our bill,And we would havedone it on the same day.used our loan car to spend a day buy the sea and collect your car up in the evening
