When i got the MGF it had been standing in the open, unused for two and half years, although i think it was covered over, because the later 2 peice hood that had been fitted a few months before it was taken "off the road" still looks like new!! ~ i have not driven the car under its own steam (not HGF) another Epsom member had obtained the car and started "fiddling" with it  he fitted a new radiator because the original had collapsed! but could not find the brass blanking plug, bodged in a plumbing fitting with loads of PTFE tape, but it still pissed water out!!!!! so i decided it would be safest to tow the car the seven miles to home, without the engine running!!!! so no EPAS or any servo either. it was interesting trying to keep the tow rope taught, mind you my Son in Law was using my Honda Accord as the tow car! i had both feet on the brake pedal and the handbrake on too, it wobbled like a drunk spider above 30mph, which i found out later was because the front wheel nuts were only on a few threads  I put the car in a neighbours garage and decided to strip de-rust and rebuild the front suspension (one lower arm has rusted through) then do the rear, the nearside cill has rusted through at the rear otherwise the bodywork is in good condition, the original wheels have corroded under the primer from the insides, but i have two extra sets of wheels and tyres and two unused steel spares!!! as work progressed and i saw the things that could be done to an F, it very much got to the stage of "" IT SEEMS SENSIBLE TO JUST DO THIS TOO WHILE IT IS APART"" and so it goes on :omg: It has been likened to the Olympic Stadium, but that will be finished by JULY 2012!!!!! :bust: :coat:
