Guess I fall in to class 2, have wanted an MG tourer T type since one passed me while I was driving my first car (ford 8 1932) in 1953 . having had company cars since then I never got around to owning one ,i now have an F/TF SUN STORM bought nearly new in 2006 with very low milage . With the hood down I live the dream of my youthfull days ,I absolutely love it , will never part with it , unless I prang it god forbid. :woohoo:

The TF was chosen because it is an MG (well -ish, I'm prepared to stretch the Octagon to a car built at the Austin by a British company).mgf04ron wrote: Guess I fall in to class 2, have wanted an MG tourer T type since one passed me while I was driving my first car (ford 8 1932) in 1953 .
My first car in 1966 was a Ford 8, or the Y type as it was known, Mine was a 1936 one and was given to me as an MoT fail. They had rod brakes and my Dad told me how to set them up. It passed , i ran it for 6 months and sold it for £5, a trick never repeated. It was colossal fun, i think i learnt to live with then enjoy !a dab of oppo, well a lot of oppo in that car. usually doing nothing nore adventuruos than keeping up with with the 60s traffic
I think I started to like MGs then, my sisters boyfriend had a TD, a car with a lot of charisma.

4 .. No idea what I had bought until I got it home and joined a forum which helped a lot, but also had a few doom and gloom merchants on it :nonod:
Since then I have just modded and modded, a weird sense of satisfaction with each one, and I have been taught how to do a few things

Sounds like you had a bad experience with your car then Mark. Although, clearly not all bad. But there is something which you all failed to mention.
Let's face it folks.. Lest ye forget. There aren't too many other global car communities like MG.
