Come on Leigh, shouldn't take too much to reshape that. I would pop round, get a large adjustable spanner tight on it and bend it out for you if I were anywhere near you.

The finisher pipe is a very tight fit over the outlet pipe, so even when all is well it doesn't slip on easy.

:P No offence intended Paul. But I paid top dollar for this item. I was [strike]hoping for[/strike] expecting zero dents or damage.

If it were a second hand steal, then maybe I'd let you loose on it... Just maybe. :)

None taken Leigh. Fully understand your sentiments, but it will never be seen and after arranging everything to get it fitted, time off, etc is it worth all the hassle to get it replaced?

It will become second hand 1 minute after you fit it :P

Iron bar or pipe in a vice and a rubber mallet should sort that out. :broon:

You should have got a Toyo sport those daytona's are well over rated

Seriously though that is just unacceptable I would complain very strongly.

It's been too much hassle and expense already. I'll just wait and see what Michael has to say about it. Thanks for confirming that it's not supposed to look that way folks. :pinch:

I've just noticed the advert pic pipes here - Ebay advert.

:omg: IT HAS BEEN DROPPED, i would guess, in transit, presume you bought it from Mike Satur, they will change it. you will have a problem getting the ends on. Good idea to replace the mounting rubbers when you get the old one off.

Sorry but I am with Leigh on this one, refund down to second hand price, or courier delivered next day replacement, it is irrelevant that it is second hand once fitted, as you can bet if he does go to sell it second hand they will spot the dents and offer stupid money ..

You paid for new and perfect, that is what you should have :yesnod:

I have always found MS a good company to deal with, I am sure they will do the right thing Leigh :broon:

No, as already said, it shouldn't look like that :(

I accept Paul's comments that it will knock back into shape and will never be seen; but I'm in your camp on this one Leigh...you paid top money for the perfect exhaust...and that's what you should receive :broon:

BTW I'm not impressed with the pictures of those quads...the Piper logo has been imprinted incorrectly on one of them...one shows the weld seam and one doesn't...I may be picky, but if that pair had been sent to me, I wouldn't accept them :nonod:

I now apologise for the following rant....it's been a long time coming, and was sparked by those pics

My first lot of Piper stamped quads were awful :(
When I got mine (brand new from MS), they discoloured and became 'gold/bronze' after a 5 mile run. A few days later, rust spots started appearing. After insisting to me they were fine with no problems, I argued my case with MS's secretary and after sending close-up photos of my quads (fair enough) got them replaced. However, the replacements rusted and discoloured in just the same way :(
Once again I rang and this time insisted on speaking to MS himself. I was told the same thing again. I sent close-up photos of my new quads and some of those of my friends' quads. MS (personally) continued to say that they were fine, there were no problems with the quads, they were IDENTICAL in every way to all the other quads he'd ever supplied other than the 'Piper' logo stamp. To cut a long story a little shorter, this was absolute rubbish...a 4 year old could spot the difference between my 'new' quads and Phil's, Clive's, Tracy's or David's- the shape, length and welds were different on a few of them - there are at least 3 different versions between the 5 of us! MS then went on to tell me, in a VERY patronising way, that the reason they'd discoloured was because I'd had the system fitted to an F rather than a TF - mmmm can't see him saying that to one of the lads somehow :nonod:
Now I've pondered this one a few times...can anyone tell me how the finishers could be exposed to a 'far higher temperature' on the F than on a TF??? no...thought not! I was told by MS it was because the exhaust system was different and the finishers were much closer to the engine on an F :-? I may be a girl...but I'm not stupid  err and Yes, David has an F and 'silver' finishers!

I continued to complain, but no joy. MS insisted they'd been replaced so it was all down to them being on the F :bang:
In the end, I managed to acquire a set of 'old-style' quads, which have stayed bright, shiny and stainless steel looking! ( HUGE, HUGE thanks Jon!)

Incidently, in my opinion, the Piper stamp detracts from the finishers - I don't like being forced to pay to advertise other people's products in any situation... but if anything has to be on there, why not stamp 'Daytona' on them??? After all, the Daytona is an MS exclusive product...you can't buy the box or finishers direct from Piper - believe me, I tried! ;)

I warned a few new Daytona buyers of the potential problem with the quads by PM as they announced their latest buys on .org. Two people thanked me and let me know that they had subsequently experienced the exact same issue :(

I believe that MS has since contacted Piper and resolved this- ok so I may have been the first to notice...but therew as no need to fob me off with lies. Being totally honest, I've no idea whether the newer ones still have Piper stamped on or whether the issue has been sucessfully resolved, but in fairness, I've not heard any more detrimental reports. This issue only seemed to affect the quads....the ovals were fine :)

Despite the very poor experience i had with MS (not even going to go into the ordering, fitting etc) I continue to enjoy the look of my 'old' finishers and luuuurrrvvvv the sound of my exhaust, which just improves with age :P Saying that, it would be even better if I could manage to steal that de-cat pipe from Phil when he's not looking!!!

Sorry for the hi-jack/rant Leigh... and despite your problems, congratulations on the purchase of the best sounding exhaust! Enjoy!!

Good luck with it all...hope you get it sorted :)

This girl doesn't mind getting her hands dirty !!!

Very interesting Maggie. Thankyou. :broon:

I wasn't aware that 'Piper' would be stamped on the quad pipes. It just says 'quad pipes' in the advert.

I hope you're right T. But I'll have to give the fitting appointment a miss for today. It was just a 'quote' appointment anyhow. Any ideas how much that should be, out of interest? Assuming that it will eventually come to that.
