Hi Leigh, Definitely looks as though the box has been damaged in transit. Appologise for the inconvenience and will get another backbox out today via TNT Next Day Delivery. If you would wrap the damaged backbox up in the original packaging we will also arrange collection, I will email you the shipping label and documents.

Mike had a look at the pictures and it looks as though it's just the outlet pipe which is damaged and can be quite easily straightened but appreciate the fact that the it should not be damaged.

Hope that you receive the replacement backbox in its intended condition and you are happy with the above. Any problems please let us know.

Kind regards
Mandy

TNT Express Consignment Notification for 4****** - Much obliged Mr S. I'll be sure to add more pics of the new one. :)

Excellent response from MS. I know it's annoying that you have to rearrange fitting etc around your shifts, but you really couldn't have wished for a better response to your complaint. New Daytona on it's way, labels etc being supplied and arrangements for the damaged item's collection...good service in my book :)

This girl doesn't mind getting her hands dirty !!!

Have to agree with Maggy and Paul.

Sometimes things go wrong, even with the best will in the world, it happens. The response when things do go wrong is what determines whether it's a satisfactory result or not.

The fact that Mike was prepared to send out another unit straightaway says a lot about him. He has tried as best he can to remedy the situation.

Other companies, mentioning no names *cough ToyoSports cough* would've been far less helpful.

Yes it's inconvenient for you, however at least Mike is doing his best to help.

Outstanding. :broon:

Accidents happen and I'm not knocking anyone for that. I'm not overjoyed at my luck of course but I couldn't bring myself to bend out a brand new pipe and cock things up with no comeback on such an expensive item. I'm happy to pay that price once, but not twice through my own error. I'm sure that 'good service' is included somewhere in that price. The expedience is appreciated though.

I wasn't aware that 'Piper' would be stamped on the quad pipes. It just says 'quad pipes' in the advert.

I think those "quad" rear pipes are rubbish, they look very badly made

What do you mean? Surely, they weren't voted as the number one MG exhaust just on the sound alone?

The performance measures:

The outcomes measured were:

Performance: Power (bhp) and torque (lb.ft)
Sound volumes: recorded with sound meter, 1.5 meters away from left hand tail pipe, at 45 degrees elevation (dB)
Subjective measures: best looking, best built, easiest to fit, best sounding.

Clickety click.

Surely the quad pipes are much better than the other two options (single pipes and oval pipes). They're around 40 quid more. They must have passed quality control ok. I'll let the forum decide. Is it ok folks or not? Maybe it's the camera angles.

Anyway, you shouldn't be able to see too much of them, once they're on the car.

I think they look lovely Leigh, with the possible exception of the welding :sofa:

It's what you think that's important.:yesnod:

They are constructed differently to my quads. Only the rear round end pipes are polished on mine.

So, beauty is in the eye of the beholder with these then? Ok.. I never said what I think yet. I'll do all that in the final round-up after fitting and testing and hearing it. I'm not shallow enough to judge something on looks alone. :)

Anyway, we all show our bits here for public scrutiny and admiration. I'd never seen a daytona properly in real life until yesterday. So, I ask the forum members with their vast amounts of experience and knowledge for their opinions of my shiney bits, partly because a couple of them raised concerns.

When it's all said and done, is it really all about the noise produced by the daytona? Or not? :)
