I got some elasticated velcro straps from Halfrauds for about £5 or £6 - work fine.

OLD black hood (with OEM glass screen):
NEW hood from MGFMania with glass screen:
Works with a full tonneau cover too!:
It does sit 'slightly' higher than the plastic hood when folded but that is to be expected. Doesnt cvause any issues though that I can see.
I like that full tonneau cover (reminds me of the olden days!). Where did you source that from if you don;t mind me asking?

Thanks.
Way back when I first got Meg some years back I saw it on eBay under the wrong heading. So I bunged a bid on and won it for twenty quid or something. It's the vinyl version with MG logos on the headrests. Was thinking of making one up in the red waterproof material I made the hood cover in... it looks a fairly simple thing to fabricate - and I think there's a classic car trim company that does the fixings fairly cheap.
It is very retro I have to agree - you either love it or you hate it! LOL

Our technique: unclip, flip the front of the hood up at the first joint, arm across just in front of the bar in front of the screen slope, fold back and fold the clips shut neatly.
It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..
