My hood interior is in a pretty scabby looking shape. I've dyed it black before but it seems to fade badly again.

It looks a bit like this:-

In addition there are a few areas where the material has been snagged/ cut or abraded by the frame.

I had a sudden inspired thought and searching ebay, found what I needed. After a hour or so fiddling, I now have this:-

Total cost was £22.98 for a 5metre roll of 18" self-adhesive acrylic black felt. Probably used half.
18" wide Sticky Back Self Adhesive Acrylic Felt Fabric 5 metre roll - Full Range
Completed

I have no idea if it will last or even stay stuck to the roof but for now at least the roof interior looks great!

Nice neat job David, I like the look of that :yesnod:

Keep us posted how well it survives the ups and downs of soft top life, this could be one to add to the To-Do-List.

Felix's red roof is skanky inside - has little mouldy spots on it etc. I was thinking of using my upholstery cleaning nozzle on my carpet cleaner to try and clean it - if it fails this might be an option!

I've been through the 'clean it' phase, followed by the 'Renovo it' phase. For some reason it always ends up looking like the top photo.

Looks really nice!

I can't quite make out from your photo - have you attached it over or under the frame?

Robin ;)

It covers the webbing, and wraps round the frame bars. I had to leave the anti-lock up straps showing though.

You could always 'Bongo' it you know and paint it orange.

I did hear a faint drumming...
You can get the felt in multiple colours - including orange. :yesnod:

Car dealers simply spray them with matt black paint!
