Grabbed an hour to myself this afternoon and recovered the major panels as shown:-
Now got to decide on the front lip of hood, tending towards recover as rest and maybe spray up the hood catches in silvery grey ? Later gonna tackle the fiddley recover around the rear window

It reminds me of the feeling of roominess that comes with a hardtop roof fitted. Only with all the benefits of a roof that folds down. Good shout. :broon:
I'm surprised that it's not been done sooner. Or, has it?

Some great results. This thread needs to be put in to the How To A to Z index.

How would that adhesive felt go on the hardtop lining??
It would not be wide enough but if you got the seams straight would it be ok ??

I don't know what the surface of the hardtop lining is made of. The felt needs a good surface to adhere to. it seems to stick to the under fabric of the hood well, but I don't think it would work too well on anything with a pile on it.

Problem with the hard top lining is that it detaches from the fibreboard that should hold it and sags.
If you want to replace the headlining in the hardtop, remove the catches, pop of the plastic retainers and remove the fibreboard.
Remove the old lining and replace it with headlining fabric, which you can buy of eBay. The one I considered was not self adhesive so I was going to use a spray on adhesive for carpets.
Black foam backed headliner fabric. 54" wide, sold by the metre. Best price!

There are dozens of other fabrics to choose from.
