Thanks for the replies guys. I guess that if I'm honest....it's a sorta hobby for me!
Though it's a daily driver it also keeps my tinkering and spannering alive, and yes I do enjoy driving it also.
It's enjoyable and annoying in equal measure: annoying in that it could have been such a better car from design stage. The styling gives me pleasure, the old fashioned parts bin equipment level less so. Modern but retro styled instrumentation, a better designed and engineered power unit, mohair hood etc would have made much difference. Big tick for mid engine layout, big minus for the x2 Metro suspension!

We've had it for over five years now.... Would we have another? Hmmmm

Other than kid interludes, we've always had a sports car in the family. Did our teenage courting in a Midget. Difficult but not impossible. When the TF removes yet another layer of skin from my knuckles, an insurance job quarry fire is an attractive thought but a crisp winter day with the hood down and heater on cancels that out.

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Mines tucked away in the garage for the winter for the first time this year.

To be honest, I think since I sorn'd it end of November, there's probably only a couple of days I may have driven it.

Missing it a little, but happy the rock salt isn't attacking the metalwork.

I'm probably going to get the tax sorted for February, but I'll only be driving on dry grit free days.

Big plus too I've been doing a few jobs I've neglected doing while the car has been on the road.

my thoughts are the same, I want my son to appreciate British workmanship, even though they sometimes they have their hiccups, and a lot do. but I think that is all the fun of it, I have got a 2017 Astra as much fun as a bad apple in a barrel of good ones,

Out in the tf today. Bright and sunny up here.
My brother Gerry has kept the steptronic on the road for the winter. It's still performing above expectations

I got mine to keep the kids in the house, bad enough living with them when they carry on, so in the summer will drive off with the wife and wave to them as we leave,

When I'm not available Sue delivers the M I L for her doctor appointments in the TF. Shes 89 ( MiL, not Sue) and loves it! Bit of a job loading the old dear in though....

It will be all right in the end. If it isn't all right yet, then it is not yet the end..

Mine originally started out as a weekend car. Unfortunately for my wife ( shes not a lover of low cars ), the more i drove it the more i enjoyed it. My ZT went off the road last February and I've been using it as my daily until the week before Christmas. Never let me down the whole year. Now the little lady needs a bit of tender loving care to her bodywork so shes parked up until the better weather arrives. This will allow me to do some much needed work on her. But i miss her already :(

I have had mine for 2yrs and it has only been out to get the m o t done and that was just up the road, the wife said this morning why don't you take it out for a spin, I said, 1, it has no driver's seat fitted 2, it has no tax on it , but I will tax it for may then rub my hands and have a blast around town with the roof down, happy days ahead I hope. just got my front mud flaps but it is still too cold to do anything at this present time, arthritis in these old hands is a killer.
